Member Companies

ANSAC operates as the international sales, marketing and distribution arm for the three leading producers of natural soda ash in the United States. Together, these companies export approximately 4 million metric tons of natural soda ash annually, making ANSAC the largest exporter of natural soda ash in the world.

Trona mining and processing is an economic mainstay of the communities of southwest Wyoming. Collectively, ANSAC's member companies operate four plants along the Green River Basin. The mines and processing plants operate 24 hours per day, year-round, and employ a significant number of the people working the area, contributing over $300 million annually to the local economy.

Tronox Alkali Wyoming Corporation

Tronox is a global leader in the mining, production, and marketing of inorganic minerals and chemicals. The company operates two vertically integrated businesses: Tronox Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and Tronox Alkali.

Tronox Alkali is the world's largest producer of natural soda ash, offering a secure, reliable and diverse range of high-quality product choices. The Alkali division mines and processes trona ore and manufactures soda ash that is used in the production of glass, detergent formulation, chemical manufacturing, pulp and paper production, and water treatment. It also produces sodium bicarbonate and other chemical compounds used in common industrial and household applications. Our main Alkali operations are in Green River, Wyoming (USA), home of the world's largest trona ore deposit.

The TiO2 division mines and processes titanium ore, zircon and other minerals, and manufactures TiO2 pigments that add brightness and durability to paints, plastics, paper, and other everyday products. The division operates mines and mineral processing plants in South Africa and Australia, and pigment manufacturing plants in the United States, the Netherlands, and Australia. Tronox also has an electrolytic and specialty chemicals division that provides innovative products to the energy storage, paper, automotive, and pharmaceutical industries. The company operates more than 20 locations around the world, with corporate offices in Stamford, Connecticut (USA), Bentley, Australia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA), and Sandton, South Africa. It has a research and development center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (USA).

Tata Chemicals (Soda Ash) Partners

Tata Chemical’s Green River operation is one of the largest soda ash facilities in North America. The Partnership is 75% owned by Tata Chemicals North America Inc, based in Rockaway, NJ and 25% owned by the world’s largest glass container producer, Owens-Illinois Inc, headquartered in Perrysburg, OH.

The company has over 100 years experience of producing soda ash in North America. Since its start-up in 1967, the company’s Green River, WY operation has been producing high quality soda ash which is used worldwide by the leading manufacturing companies in glass containers, flat glass, sodium chemicals (including baking soda and sodium silicates), and detergents.

The managing partner for Tata Chemicals (Soda Ash) Partners is Tata Chemicals North America Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Chemicals Limited, headquartered in Mumbai, India.

Ciner Resources Corporation

Since 1962, Ciner Resource Corporation’s Green River, Wyoming operation has been among the world's leading producers of high-quality natural soda ash. Although the name has changed over the years, the quality of the soda ash, people and services continues to set the pace in the industry, as it has since initially established by Stauffer Chemical.
